A Trying Week

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to give you all an update about this week. It's been crazy so far.  On Monday, I had an economics exam, on Thursday I have a psychology exam, and I have an 8 page paper due on Friday.  Needless to say, it has been a stressful week.  I am really looking forward to relaxing next week about now.  Talk to you later.

One More Week To Go

Hey everyone,

This weekend's been pretty quite here around campus.  I was actually pretty surprised with next week being Thanksgiving Break and all.  It was pretty nice though cause I got to get some studying done for all my tests this week.  I swear my professors thought this week was finals week because I have an exam in like every class.  The break is going to feel real nice after this week.  I'll keep you all updated on everything throughout the week.

A Nice Week

Hey everyone,

This past week has been pretty good so far.  Earlier this week, we got a nice reprieve from the cold whether earlier this week when it actually climbed back into the sixties.  Too bad that was only a short-lived occurrence though, as it is now back to normal.  I can now say that I am finally fully adjusted to college I have been finding it easy lately to efficiently accomplish assignments when they've been assigned and this week, I even found the time to make it to the gym, which I have unfortunately become too busy to attend as of late.  Although, with next week being the last week before a decently large break, I am sure the free time that I am finding myself have this week will soon disappear.

November Already

Hey everyone,

I just got out of chem. Lab a little while ago a figured a catch up on everything with you all.  It seems like with the coming of November, it has dropped like 10 degrees here.  I wouldn't be surprised if we had a couple inches of snow on the ground before Thanksgiving.  All my classes are going pretty good lately, now it seems like the professors are starting to gear up more and more for finals since they are not too far in the distance.  I can't believe how fast this semester is actually going.  It seems like yesterday I was just unloading my stuff and getting settled into my dorm and now snows about to fly.  I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and the well-needed week break that accompanies it.

Home Again

Hey everyone,

This past week has been pretty good.  I actually had the opportunity to go home last weekend so that was a great time.  It was interesting to me what I took for granted before college, tings such as the comfort of my own bed.  It's weird how comfortable that bed gets after a month of being away from home.  It was also really nice to see all my friends from high school.  Last weekend gave us a chance to all hang out and it felt a little like high school again.  Once I got back up here I had to hit the ground running though since I had 3 tests this past week.  It always seem like there's a test in every class at the same time in college.

Updates On This Week

Hey everyone,

This week has been going pretty good so far.  It's actually warmed up enough to where it hasn't snowed at all, which is always good in the middle of October.  The one big event that I've had this week is an economics test on Monday night.  After taking that test, I have some advice for new students; try not to take night classes if you can.  For me at least, it's so much harder to keep paying attention at like eight o'clock at night.  I'll keep you all updated on what's going on the rest of the week.

Hello Winter

Hey everyone,

Life has been good up here.  The one thing that's definitely changed over the past week is the weather.  It actually snowed a couple days ago.  I couldn't believe it being that I'm not used to seeing snow until at least the end of November.  Luckily, it was only a dusting and not the 5 inches that University Park got.  I'm sure it won't be long before we catch up to them though.  I've learned quickly that warm clothes are your friend in Erie.  A different experience that I've had lately was that a high school student stayed over in my dorm as part of a tour of campus.  It was an interesting experience talking to someone who was in the same place I was a year ago and I would recommend this to any high school student out there who is still undecided in where they want to go.  It is the only way to truly get the feel for the campus.  I'll let you guys know what's going on throughout the week.

Parent Weekend

Hey everyone,

I thought I would let you al know how the weekend went.  It was a rally nice time for the weather we ended up having all weekend.  Everyone definitely made the best of everything.  Most of the activities had to be cancelled due to the threatening of rain that we had all Saturday and Sunday.  I really enjoyed it though just seeing my family and everything.  I've never been away for this long before so it was a pretty odd experience catching up on everything that's been going on home.  School has been going pretty good lately, I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of delegating my time for everything.  One thing that I've learned over the past month is that effective time management skills are essential for surviving in college.  Talk to you all later.

A Week of Mixed Emotions

Hey everyone,

As many of you may know, this week was a very disappointing week for Penn State fans everywhere.  On Saturday night, the football team suffered a crushing defeat to Iowa.  What made this event even more traumatic was the fact that it was this year's white out game.  Needless to say, mood around campus was rather somber.  The one thing that is exciting about this weekend is that it is parent weekend here at Behrend.  There are many activities including a dinner scheduled for the event.  I know mine, as well as many of my friend's parents are coming to visit so i should be a nice weekend.  I am especially enthusiastic for the visit because it will be the first time I've seen my parents in a month.  That is a long time to go without seeing your family.  I'll keep you all updated on this weekend's events.

Thanks for reading,

Adam

College Life So Far

Hey everyone,

This past week has been really great.  I feel as though I'm finally starting to get used to being away from home and everything.  That was one definite surprise to me coming to college.  Before going to college, I didn't think much of being away from home.  But now that I'm here, I'm so glad I chose a college that's somewhat close to home.  Last weekend, I had one of the best experiences of my life.  I went to University Park for the weekend to go to the game and get a feel for the state college coulture.  I've never experienced such energy before in a group of people as I did being in the student section at the game.  I stayed with a friend of mine from high school and really had a good time.  As fun as it was being in the atmosphere of State College, I left feeling more satisfying in my decision of going to Behrend than ever.  I felt as though University Park was a good place to visit, but wasn't that conducive to actually studying and learning.  After taking a few tests this past week, I realize that studying is the most important activity that you can engage yourself in during college.  It's not like high school where it's possible to slack off studying and still do well on a test, if you don't study; there is a slim possibility that you will pass that test.  I just hope I did enough studying in order to receive good grades on my tests.
