Today I realized that Firefox on my puny 10.1" Asus netbook was taking up quite a bit of space. So I did some googling and came up with the best approach for me and wanted to share. It involved some chrome css modifications and a firefox addon, but I think it came out pretty good...this is what it looks like:

What the Script does is basically three things: First it removes the unused buttons such as back and forward and stop and refresh if they cannot be applied. I.E. you type google.com into the address bar it will remove forward and Go back because you can't actually do that. Second it turns the stumble Upon and Boomarks toolbars to hidden until roll over, so they won't appear until you roll the mouse over them.
Download the Chrome.css file Here
Download the addon that removes the File Menu Bar Here
Windows XP:
To use the chrome file right click on the link and click Save as:
Then navigate C:\Documents and Settings\"Your Username"\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\"whatever your .default folder is"\chrome
Save the userChrome.css file here and restart firefox and your done!
Video of the two files in action "Netbook Firefox" in action
Windows Vista requires you to save it in the "appdata" folder and then in the "roaming something" folder then firefox....etc...
Any questions please feel free to ask!!!
