Cure for Cancer discovered?

I don't know about any one else but I always wondered with all the money that people raise for cancer every year, how do we not have a cure? I mean right here in our own university with run a program to raise money to help children with cancer. Over 10 million dollars is fundraised almost every year. Where in the world does this money go that we cannot find a simple cure for one of the world's most deadliest diseases. Well according to an article written by Claire Bear the cure for cancer has been discovered and is a simple drug. pill.jpg

The problem is that it is not a patent drug which means Pharmacies won't profit off of a non-patent drug as much as any other drug. Cancer is killing millions of people yearly and all Pharmacies care about is money over people's loved ones being lost? What has our society come to that money is more important than lives? The simple drug dichloroacetate, a drug used to treat metabolic disorders, contains the power we need to defeat cancer. The cure was discovered by scientists at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada. The hope for this drug is that independent companies perfect this cure and manufacture it for the patients that desperately need it. After reading this article and researching it a bit, it really does anger some people like myself who are directly affected by this. My family and I just lost my 23 year old cousin to cancer as well as my aunt and grandmother currently battling the disease. Knowing their is a drug out there that can help them and nothing is being done about it just makes me even that more angry. Independent companies need to open their eyes and realize innocent people are dying from a disease that is clearly curable. Big businesses in America are taking the country in an entirely wrong direction and proof is here, in one of the biggest searches for a cure in a our generation and beyond. Somebody or people need to step up and make this known to the world and put an end to one of the biggest diseases our world has ever seen.

Its an interesting idea, but from what you provided it is no more than imaginary data with the name of a university thrown on top of it. Is this more than a conspiracy theory? Was the source reliable?

This blog caught my attention because cancer is a major factor in my family. My grandmother, aunts, and cousins are battling, or have battled cancer. So reading that there "is" a cure confused me. I went to cancer.org to see if there was information on cures for cancer and there was nothing of the sort. Then I googled cures for cancer, and came across a cbsnews article on a 17 year old girl that wrote a research paper on curing cancer, in her spare time. It's interesting because, like the tests we see as examples in class, her cure has been tested on mice, and the tumors almost completely disappear in them, which is pretty amazing. My question is have doctors looked into this particular cure? Are their more tests being done? I too wonder if the money people raise for different types of cancer is being used on experiments like this for example, or just what.
