Problamatic zit?

So the other day I wake up with something less than pleasant on my face, a nice big pimple. When my roommate suggested that I put some toothpaste on it. Obviously I looked at her like she was an idiot, but then I decided to look into it. Turns out she not as big of an idiot as I thought.
According to this article toothpaste can actually help! There are just a few steps you have to take so you don't end up hurting your skin.
  1. use a normal white toothpaste and not a gel variety
  2. choose a toothpaste with minimal additives
  3. Don't rub the toothpaste into your skin - simply dab a small amount over the pimple to cover it and the surrounding area
  4. do not leave toothpaste on your face over night
  5. find the right toothpaste - Crest is known to burn, whereas Aquafresh and Colgate are highly recommended by toothpaste and acne advocates

Now why does this even work? The toothpaste takes the oil out of the zit which kills the bacteria. So if you have a problematic zit go ahead and try toothpaste! It's so crazy it just might work.

This is actually quite interesting and hopefully will be useful in the time to come! Although, according to this article, you need to be very careful on the type of toothpaste you use and the amount of time you leave it on your face. Not everyone has the same type of skin so not everyone will have the same results when trying this method. If you do try this method I would be sure to follow the guidelines you listed above and would not use it as a long term treatment.
