rush photo.jpgHey guys! My name is Michael Thomas, but I usually go by Mike. I am from York, Pennsylvania; more specifically a town called Red Lion. I have always been a huge fan of the Nittany Lions here at Penn State. I played both golf and basketball in high school.  Throughout high school, I managed to do well in science, but I just never really found myself enjoying it. Science just isn't for me. I can appreciate everything that science offers the world, and I understand that it is a huge reason why we are here today. It's just not my thing. I am, as the syllabus touches on, a non-scientist. When I saw the class description during scheduling, I thought that it sounded like the best-fit science class for me to take to fulfill my science credit needed. The course description fit me perfectly.  Currently I am in DUS, but my hopes are to continue into the Smeal College of Business. There are many majors within Smeal that I am currently considering. SC 200 seems to be a class that I am going to enjoy. The topics of discussion all seem interesting, and I am eager to learn more about these controversial topics of science.

The part of the syllabus under requirements that reads a "loathing for science" comforted me for sure! And I totally agree with you; the controversial issues and interesting topics that science has to offer is, I believe, worth a class discussion; however, the numbers, graphing, and painful details of it al is just not for me! Especially this

I am on the same page with you about not liking science. I enjoy playing golf as well along with all sports in general
