Blogging for Science Class? Don't Mind if I Do!

ยกHola a todos!

My name is Michelle and I'm studying Spanish, Media Studies, and International Studies.  I was really excited to see this course being offered again, since it seems like a perfect fit for me.  Let's be perfectly honest here, who wouldn't want to take a science class where we get to blog?  I'm hoping this class allows me to better balance all of my other courses that are much more reading and writing intensive this semester (plus, I can fulfill my last GN requirement).

Surprisingly I wanted to be a surgeon or a pharmacist when I was in high school, but then I realized that math was far less interesting than languages!  (Don't get me wrong, I never hated science; I just much prefer the liberal arts.)

This picture sums up a few frustrating years of math classes:

Anyway - here's to a great semester of science blogging!

Hey Michelle,

We've all had subjects that were frustrating enough to change our future plans, but I'm glad to see you have adapted your major into what really interested you. I also had trouble with math, especially when THIS happened to me last year.

Media studies? I'm trying for a film major! Maybe we have other classes together!

Hi Brian!

I'm a senior finishing up my COMM major. I only have
COMM 405, 410, and 413W left for this year. Jo Dumas is my 413W professor, and she studies film too. Do you have to take any of those as a film major?

According to the Film/TV studies PDF on this page, I don't have to take 410. Which is that?

Hey,

Wow those are a lot of majors! I took spanish 1-3 during the summer I couldn't imagine trying to major in it. Are you taking 1,2, or 3 and using angel?

It's International Mass Communication. Within Media Studies, I'm concentrating on International Communications, so this course is a must for me.

Hi Levi!
It's a pretty fun major - you should continue through the minor at least. I'm actually finished with all of my SPAN courses and am writing my thesis now, which just leaves me with a bunch of SPAN 496 research credits. If you decide to continue, I can definitely recommend some awesome courses!
