Teaching with ANGEL

Spanish Basic Language Program |
Welcome to Spanish 002 at Penn State! Spanish 002 is a course within the Spanish Basic Language Program (SBLP) designed for students who are native speakers of a language other than Spanish. The course is a 4-credit class taught with technology. Each week the class will meet for two hours in class and the remaining coursework (Instruction + homework) is completed online on Penn State’s course management system, ANGEL. The purpose of the course is to develop and improve communication skills when listening, reading, speaking, and writing in Spanish. The course follows a communicative information-based task approach, which springs from the idea that languages are best learned when real world information becomes the focus of students’ activities. Therefore, during the semester, you will exchange real-life information about yourself and your classmates.
Prerequisites:
In order to register for Spanish 002, you must comply with several prerequisites. Students who have taken Spanish 001 at Penn State or who have reached the equivalent level at another university may register for Spanish 002.
