I'm Anthony Robinson - welcome to my home on the web. I'm a Research Associate at Penn State. I currently work for the GeoVISTA Center and John A. Dutton e-Education Institute. My research has involved adapting geovisualization tools for use in epidemiology, interface design for geovisualization, and characterizing how users assemble and collect their results. If you're interested, you can read more than you care to enjoy about it in my M.S. thesis, PhD dissertation and the published papers I've posted in the Portfolio section.

I teach Cartographic Design courses for the resident program at Penn State, and in the Winter of '09 I will begin teaching for the online MGIS program for our e-Education program.

Updated 8.18.2008 -

I successfully defended my dissertation on May 29th, 2008. I've posted it now on my portfolio page here.

Pictures from recent trips to Ghana, Tokyo, Hawaii and ICA Moscow (incl. my side trip to Chernobyl in the Ukraine) are now up. Coming soon: pictures from Kauai & Mexico City.

I've added several recent papers, including one from ICA in Moscow and one that was recently accepted to the VAST 2007 Doctoral Colloquium. Both are initial reports on my dissertation research on geovisual synthesis. My paper "A Design Framework for Exploratory Geovisualization in Epidemiology" has been published in the journal Information Visualization.

My current CV is available here.
