Blogs (Student Prompts & Entries)

Weblogs as a genre are more informal and immediate than most other forms of technical writing. The purpose of this assignment is to use that informality, as well as the capacity for linking to a variety of online media, to encourage you to think reflectively about the topics being discussed in the class, but also to engage more thoroughly with your own disciplines and the role writing will have in your professional lives. You have a fair amount of latitude with the blogging assignment (write about things that interest you). But in order to give some direction to this portion of the class I suggest you take into account the issues discussed in this grading rubric, and use the following prompts.

PROMPTS                         STUDENT RESPONSES

Blog #1 (due 9/4).................aggregation of all student responses to Blog Prompt #1

Blog #2 (due 9/18)..............aggregation of all student responses to Blog Prompt #2
Blog #3 (due 10/7)...............aggregation of all student responses to Blog Prompt #3

Blog #4 (due 10/28).............aggregation of all student responses to Blog Prompt #4

Blog #5 (due 11/6)...............aggregation of all student responses to Blog Prompt #5

Blog #6 (due 12/2)...............aggregation of all student responses to Blog Prompt #6

*Tags for Aggregating Blogs
When students tag their blog entries, it allows us to collect them in one place (on a tag aggregation page). Make sure each of your blog posts has the appropriate tag (provided with the prompt) so that I and your classmates can read and respond to them more easily.
