The Education Section is now accepting proposals for presenters/teachers in the 2011 Ethnomusicology Goes to Middle School project. If you are interested in presenting please submit your proposal by September 16th, 2011.

The Education Section is very pleased to announce the Elizabeth May Slater Prize to recognize the most distinguished student paper
or project, presented at the annual SEM conference, in the ethnomusicology of
children, youth, or the education or pedagogy of aspects of the world's musical

The Education Section is pleased to announce a one-day workshop for local teachers at the Wilshire Grand Los
Angeles hotel on Saturday, November 13th, headquarters of the 55th
annual meeting of the Society for Ethnomusicology, from 8:30 am to 12:30 PM. For more information please see the conferences "tag" at the top of the page.
Our Ethnomusicology in the School Project will occur on Wednesday,
November 10th, 2010, the day before the official start of the
conference . This
event will be an opportunity for Education Section members to share
their musical and cultural expertise with local middle school students
at North Park Middle School in Pico Rivera, CA.
