Training Day
Today, all of the librarians from the Library Learning Services Department, along with some folks from DLT, TLT, and a subject librarian or two, are going through a six-hour training on RefWorks. Penn State is currently pilot testing the web-based citation tool.
There are a lot of nuances to learn about this tool, but so far, it's scaring me a lot less than EndNote does! Right now, we've gotten through the easy databases that have a direct "export" button in them (Proquest, EBSCO, etc.) and we're moving into the less intuitive databases like (cringe) PubMed.
Time for me to stop being a bad student...after today's session we'll all be able to start teaching RefWorks so that the pilot can move forward and gain momentum with a variety of audiences. I'm anxious to know what our user feedback will be!
